Three final year Bachelor of Business (Hons) students (Dept. of Management and Financial Studies) at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) recently scooped first & second prize in the National Level Sustainability Booster Competition conducted by The Triple Connection on behalf of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ireland.

These awards were bestowed to the DkIT students at the national Supply Chain Knowledge Day which was held on the Carlow campus of South East Technological University (SETU).

The winning students who took first place were Lina Lubickiene and Thomas Toner and second place went to Arjun Pramod Menon, these prizes were presented to the students by James Kearney & Katie Wheeler from the CILT.

The winning students that won 1st and 2nd prize were involved in a Supply Chain Business Simulation Game which was conducted over 2 evenings, in their own time.

The award winners were taught Supply Chain Management by their lecturer Annmarie McHugh who was absolutely delighted with their success, she said:

“I’m so proud of these students, it was such an outstanding achievement for the Students of DkIT to take both 1st and 2nd prize at this national event. Graduates with Supply Chain knowledge are in high demand both nationally and internationally, winning these awards will cement these students employability skills and will really enhance their CVs”

Not only were the award-winning students in attendance at this Supply Chain Knowledge Day, but they were also accompanied by a bus load of DkIT Business Studies students from Year 2 and Year 3 along with lecturers Annmarie McHugh and Maryellen Kelledy.

This occasion was the 2nd ever national Supply Chain Event and students had the opportunity to gain insights and advice about jobs and careers in Supply Chain Management from industry titans such as Amazon and Lidl amongst others.
