A frosty, icy start for many on Tuesday morning, gradually clearing to leave a mainly dry bright day for many with spells of sunshine.
It will be mostly cloudy for a time along the east coast though, with the likelihood of some outbreaks of rain here, mainly in the morning.
Cloud will start to increase from the southwest later in the day. Highest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees in light to moderate mainly northwest winds.
Dry for most for a time on Tuesday night with some clear spells and with lowest temperatures of -2 to +4 degrees, with some frost and ice, mainly in the midlands, east and north.
There's the likelihood of some fog and freezing fog for a time too. It will become milder though from the southwest through the night, as outbreaks of rain gradually extends northeastwards across the country along with freshening south east winds.
There might be some sleet on the leading edge of the rainfall, but it will be very short-lived if it occurs at all.
