All’s good in local sport as the second half of the season approaches. Kate O’Connor showed in Poland that she’s in rude health, taking bronze in the World Indoor Championships.

Dundalk FC are in a promising position in the Premier League, looking forward to the resumption of the competition following the international break. There’s an away game with Shelbourne on Friday, followed on Monday night with a visit of St Patrick’s.

A return for Stephen Kenny to his old stomping ground. Arguably, the most successful manager in Dundalk’s history, he’ll have mixed feelings if his son, Eoin, sticks one in the net for the home team.

Louth senior footballers make their championship debut on April 19th, taking on Wexford. They will, of course, be defending the title they won last year in fine fashion. Winners play Dublin in the semi-final.

First signs suggest the minor and under-20 teams are going to be there when it comes to the business end in their championships. Both had their first outings in the league section last week, and they recorded a double.
