Ruby Walsh tips a Cheltenham Day 1 double and fans are all over it
Retired jockey Ruby Walsh has tipped up a Cheltenham Day 1 double and punters have been getting on with the bookies.,
Speaking on a Day 1 preview on Monday, the former Willie Mullins stable jockey said two horses from his old boss's yard are "rock solid."
Ruby veered the Willie Mullins horses in the first couple of races but was smitten with longtime Champion Hurdle favourite State Man who he thinks is more than a cut above his rivals. He runs in the 3.30pm race on Tuesday.
The second horse on Ruby's radar is the classy Lossiemouth who runs as favourite in the Mare's Hurdle at 4.10pm on Tuesday. Lossiemouth won the Triumph Hurdle at last year's Cheltenham Festival and is many peoples' banker of the week this time around.
The odds on Ruby's double are 11/10, so if you bet €20, you will collect €42. He also selected one at a bigger price on Tuesday via and eachway bet on Ose Partir (14/1) in the Boodles Juvenile Hurdle at 4.50pm.
