James Coburn and Justin McArdle won their doubles clash to help Charlies Barber team clinch a 3-1 victory over the Embassy in the Dundalk Snooker League
The Dundalk Snooker League is back on the baize for its 2022/3 season.
6 teams have entered this year's league and are sponsored by: The Commercial club, Callans's Bar church street, Charlies' Barbers, GM Valeting, Mallon Property and The Embassy.
The match of the week was Charlies Barbers versus The Embassy. In the first game (Charlies) James Coburn took on (The Embassy) Mark Laverty. After a tense opening, a fine 32 break saw Laverty give The Embassy a 1-0 lead.
Match 2 saw Charlie's level proceedings in a tight frame when Dominic O'Connor potted the last pink to narrowly see off the improving Tomas Geroc representing The Embassy.
The 3rd match saw the Legend Justin (JJ) McArdle of Charlies Barbers take on his old foe David Moran. However Justin's class was to prevail as he swiftly disposed of Moran in impressive style, putting Charlies 2-1 up on the night.
Charlies went on to win 3-1 when doubles pair Justin McArdle and James Coburn beat Tomas Geroc and Davey Moran in a tight final frame that could have swung either way.
