There was great sadness across the county with the news that another hero of 1957, Jim McArdle had passed away.
The 91-year-old was part of a magical era for football in the Wee County and played a huge part in their Sam Maguire Cup triumph.
The defender played throughout the four ties in Leinster and starred in the number six jersey in their win over Tyrone in the Semi-Final. However, an injury in that game saw him missing out on the Final, despite being named among the starters.
McArdle was also a distinguished club player, having won various honours in a career that saw him line out for the likes of Young Ireland's, Stabannon Parnells and of course Roche Emmets.
Another medal worth boasting about is the Sigerson Cup, which he won with UCD, not to mention the fact he was named at number six on the Louth GAA Team of the Millennium back in 2000.
Jim's Funeral Mass takes place this Friday, November 25th at Saint Brigid's Church Kilcurry at 12PM, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The mass can be viewed at https://www.faughartparish.ie/.
