Breathnach calls on Louth farmers to apply for BEAM funding before Sunday’s deadline
Fianna Fáil TD Declan Breathnach has called on Louth farmers to apply for Beef Exceptional Aid Measure (BEAM) funding which closes this Sunday, September 8.
“The deadline is fast approaching, and I would call on farmers to get their applications in immediately", said Deputy Breathnach.
“There are over 37,000 beef finishers and 55,000 suckler farmers eligible to apply. However, I am concerned that many of these farmers will miss the deadline simply because they haven’t heard about it."
He continued:
“We recently saw that Louth had the second fewest amount of applications for the Beef Environmental Efficiency Pilot (BEEP) scheme.
"I fear that yet again, our farmers will miss out on funding, this time for BEAM, because they were not aware of the deadline. The Minister and Department need a more thorough public awareness campaign for these schemes.”
Farmers can apply for the scheme online at www.IFA.ie/BEAM and can ring the Local IFA office at 0429744870 for more assistance.
