Students from Coláiste Chú Chulainn in Dundalk take Canary Wharf by storm
Caolan McCabe and Darren Mundow from Coláiste Chú Chulainn spent three days in London recently, on Net Éire and Cooperation Ireland’s ‘Futures in Banking’ program in Morgan Stanley’s office in Canary Warf.
The 5th Year students participated in employability and skills workshops focusing on students' social footprint and interview techniques and a presentation from the Irish Deputy Head of Mission, Mr Gerald Angley.
The students also visited the trading floor in Morgan Stanley and were shown around by interns at the international firm .
Caolán McCabe from Waterville Crescent described how he networked over lunch with young people working in the City of London and discussed his career paths to their current roles.
The Young Irelanders star was taken on a guided tour of Bloomberg TV Studio in Bank Street and visited the Roman ruins in The City.
Darren Mundow from Bay Estate described the Project Management Exercise where he delivered a presentation to invited guests in the Financial Sector.
This was the 10 year anniversary of the student Diversity Programme bringing students together from all walks of life to experience what career paths are open to them. Bean Uí Riodal has brought students from Coláiste Chú Chulainn on the program for three years now and students have benefited from the trip in having a clearer plan and making connections for the future.
