Calls for traffic lights at Home Bakery in Dundalk to be reviewed

Calls for the traffic lights at the Home Bakery to be examined were heard at the Dundalk Municipal District May Meeting that took place in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening.

Cllr Anne Campbell raised the issue at the meeting, and compared the speed at which they turn red to the traffic lights at the Market Square in the town.

"You just have to look at them and they stop [turn red]", said Cllr Campbell, whereas "the ones at the Square, you'd get grey hairs [waiting for them to change]".

The local councillor also raised the issue of fading white lines at the junction, saying that drivers are no longer clear as to where they should stop.

These issues, Cllr Campbell said were helping to contribute to traffic problems especially in the afternoons when schools were finishing.

The meeting heard in response that the Council will look into Cllr Campbell's query and would also follow up on the white lines issue.
