Ardee Gardaí have made an appeal for witnesses following an attempted petrol bomb attack in the area on New Year's Eve.

As reported by LMFM news today, Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident where it is said that two men were trying to set fire to a vehicle in Moorehall Close.

The two men reportedly fled the scene when disturbed by a resident.

A petrol bomb which was also thrown at one of the houses in the estate, but did not go off, was found by Gardaí.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Hale Street or Moorehall Close area of Ardee in the early hours of Monday morning last, and who saw anything suspicious, to contact them at Ardee Garda Station or on the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
