Homes evacuated following fire in North Louth

People were evacuated from a number of homes in Riverstown in north Louth by gardaí on Sunday night, following a fire that broke out in a shed in the area.

Gardaí were called to the incident at around 6.30 pm on Sunday December 30, where a number of petrol drums and gas cannisters are believed to have caught fire.

A Garda spokeswoman said to the Dundalk Democrat that the fire was being investigated, but they do not believe it began suspiciously.
