Louth County Council has signed a contract with John Cradock Ltd, Kilcullen, Co Kildare for the Clanbrassil Street & St Nicholas’ Quarter Rejuvenation Scheme in Dundalk. Works are expected to commence on January 7 2019.

The area of the works comprises Clanbrassil Street, Church Street and part of Bridge Street (to St Nicholas Church) and will involve the provision of wider granite footpaths, asphalt parking bays, planting and seating areas, and the upgrading of public lighting.

The works will also provide improved pedestrian crossings and a decluttering of footpaths.

“The contract value for the Clanbrassil Street & St Nicholas’ Quarter Rejuvenation Scheme is in the region of €5m, which represents a considerable investment in the town of Dundalk by Louth County Council and by the European Regional Development Fund, which is part-funding the works.
