Rents in Louth continue to climb higher

The average advertised rent in Louth is up 95% from its lowest point

The average rents in Louth were 11.9% higher in the third quarter of 2018 than a year previously.

The Daft.ie Rental Price Report for Q3 of 2018 released today, shows that the average advertised rent in Louth is now €1193, up 95% from its lowest point during the recession.

Nationally, rents have risen by an average of 11.3%, suggesting that the rate of increase in Louth is slightly higher than the rest of the country.

The average rents in Louth according to the report are as follows:

A one-bedroom apartment is now €844. This is up 10% on the same time last year.

A two-bed house is now €978 – up 10.1% on Q3 2017.

The average price fopr a three-bed house is now €1,144 in Louth – up 7.4% on last year.

A four bedroom house is now €1,260, up 8.8% on Q3 2017.

Finally, the average rent for a five-bed house in Louth is €1,385 – up 17.4% on last year.

While there may be various reasons for the continuous rise in rents in Louth and nationwide, Ronan Lyons, Assistant Professor of Economics at Trinity College Dublin, in the report said, “ultimately, the reason rents are rising, country-wide, is because demand far outstrips supply.”

As of today, Monday November 12, there are 104 properties in Louth available to rent.
