Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB), have announced today the appointment of Ms. Jacqui McCusker as the Principal at Faughart Community National School.
Ms. McCusker joins the leadership team of LMETB from St. Oliver’s National School in Carlingford where she was Deputy Principal for nine years having started there in 2008.
During her time in St. Oliver’s National School Carlingford, Ms McCusker has taught a variety of class groups including multi grade class groups and Deputy Principal duties.
She also had responsibility for leading ICT, Digital Learning and STEM subjects within the school and was also responsible for whole school curriculum planning and organisational policy development. Ms McCusker also played a key role in the school’s School Self Evaluation process and the introduction of coding to students at the school.
LMETB Director Fiona Kindlon says Ms McCusker brings a wealth of experience to the post, and believes the new principal recognises the inextricable link between high quality teaching, learning and assessment methods and student achievement and attainment and is committed to supporting and promoting teacher professional development.
The new Faughart Community National School principal places great value on student involvement in extra-curricular activities and plans to develop a wide range of these activities at her new post, according to LMETB.
Ms McCusker herself says she would like to extend a thanks to members of the Faughart community who have given her a warm welcome over the past two weeks upon her appointment to the role of Principal at this the first Community National School in Co. Louth which is under the patronage of LMETB.
Together with her teaching staff, Mr. Andrew D’Arcy and Ms. Saoirse Mc Dermott, Principal McCusker looks forward to welcoming pupils to the school when Faughart Community National school opens it doors to the community on Thursday 30th August 2018.
