Louth and Monaghan included in Met Éireann snow-ice warning
Louth and Monaghan are included in a snow-ice warning issued by Met Éireann today for tomorrow evening through to Tuesday morning.
In the weather alert, Met Éireann warns of “falls of snow from Monday evening, with accumulations totalling up to 3cm possible in some areas, leading to treacherous road conditions by Tuesday morning."
While today has been mainly a dry and fine day for Louth and Monaghan, the cold is to set in from tonight.
With temperatures expected to reach lows of minus 2 degrees Celsius tomorrow night in Leinster, rain extending eastwards through Monday night is expected to turn to sleet and snow in parts of Leinster.
While the snow-ice warning is valid until Tuesday morning, cold temperatures are forecast to continue throughout much of the rest of the week.
