32 new residential units planned for Dundalk town centre

32 new residential units and two new retail units planned for 84-88 Dublin Street, Dundalk

A planning application submitted with Louth County Council this week, seeks to build 32 new residential units, as well as two new retail units at 84-88 Dublin Street, Dundalk.

The mixed residential and commercial development application submitted by Flood Francis Developments Ltd, is the second in the past 12 months by the same applicant.

In June 2017, Flood Francis Developments submitted an application with Louth County Council, to redevelop the site at 84-88 Dublin Street into a mixed residential and commercial development that would have included 39 apartments.

This application was subsequently withdrawn in August 2017, before a decision was made by Louth County Council on the matter.

The application which was submitted this week is currently at the pre-validation stage, but the details which are available on the Louth County Council website, show that the new application seeks to demolish the “existing retail / commercial unit, boundary walls and rear storage yard & parking area”.

The new development would see two new retail units constructed, as well as two new residential units on the ground floor. It would also see 30 new residential units constructed, “arranged around a podium level courtyard” providing, five one-bedroom, 21 two-bedroom and four three-bedroom units.

A decision on the application is due on 20 March 2018.
