RTE Archives features Louth hotel from 1966
RTE Archives have released a video this week from 1966, that features the Road House Hotel, now the Carrickdale Hotel, in a show called “The Changing Face of Ireland”.
The episode which was broadcast on 18 January 1966, looked at the tourism situation in Ireland, where it was estimated that the industry was worth £75 million to the Irish economy.
In this particular video, we are introduced to Miss Durcan, owner of the Road House Hotel, where she discusses how the new hotel is helping promote tourism in the area.
The programme was directed and scripted by Norris Davidson.
