Christmas timetables for public transport in Louth

Bus Éireann, Irish Rail and Matthews Coaches have released their timetables for Christmas. Here is a rundown of the services available over the festive period.

Buses will run every day across the Christmas holiday period - apart from December 25 - with services operating standard timetables with some exceptions.

• 24 December – All city and commuter/rural services nationwide will operate up until approximately 21.00.
• 25 December – No services operate on Christmas Day
• 26 December – A full Sunday timetable will operate on all city & town routes, with reduced frequency on main commuter routes
• 27 December – A full weekday service will operate with some minor exceptions**
• 28 December – A full weekday service will operate with some minor exceptions**
• 29 December – A full weekday service will operate with some minor exceptions**
• 30 December – A full Saturday service will operate with some minor exceptions.
• 31 December – A full Sunday service will operate with services operating until approximately 21.00.
• 1 January – A full Sunday service will operate with some minor exceptions
• 2 January – A full weekday service will operate 

**Route 103 & NX will operate a Saturday service from 27 to 29 December inclusive.

Dundalk town service:

• 24 December – Sunday Service
• 25 December – No Service
• 26 December – Sunday Service
• 27 December – Weekday Service
• 28 December – Weekday Service
• 29 December – Weekday Service
• 30 December – Saturday Service
• 31 December – Sunday Service
• 1 January – Sunday Service
• 2 January – Weekday Service

Sunday 24 December

• Dublin/Belfast/Dublin Services: A normal Sunday service will operate.

• Drogheda/Dundalk Services: A normal Sunday service will operate with the following alterations:
  • 20.15 Pearse/Dundalk will operate to Drogheda only.
  • 21.15 Pearse/Dundalk, 23.30 Pearse/Dundalk, 19.45 Drogheda/Pearse and 22.05 Drogheda/Connolly are cancelled.
  • An 18.50 Drogheda/Connolly operates

Christmas Day, Monday 25 & St. Stephen's Day, Tuesday 27 December, 2017

• No services will operate on these days

Wednesday 27 December 2017

• Belfast Services: A normal Wednesday service will operate with the following cancellation: 06.30 Newry/Connolly.

• Drogheda/Dundalk Services: A Saturday service will operate with the following alteration: 08.40 Pearse/Dundalk will commence from Connolly at 08.50 hrs.

Thursday 28 and Friday 29 December 2017

• Dublin/Belfast/Dublin services: A Saturday service will operate with the following cancellation: 06.30 Newry/Connolly.

• Drogheda/Dundalk services: A Saturday service will operate with the following alteration: 06.30 Dundalk/Pearse operates.

Saturday 30 December 2017

• A normal Saturday service will operate.

New Year's Eve Sunday 31 December 2017

• Intercity services will operate a regular Sunday service with some alterations and cancellations until approximately 21:00 hrs.
• Late night services will operate after midnight on Dundalk commuter route.  

New Year's Day Monday 1 January 2018

• Belfast Enterprise services will operate a limited Sunday service with some cancellations.

Tuesday 2nd January 2018

• Normal services resume on all routes
