DUNDALK man Darran Rafferty was trending at number one in Twitter topics in Ireland last night after he took to #LouthChat to discuss his photography work.

Darran told the Dundalk Democrat that he believes he was popular on Twitter because he included a photograph of his work with every tweet.

"#Louthchat takes place every Tuesday between 8pm and 9pm. It's an opportunity for Louth businesses to discuss their work. I was this week's Star Business," explained Darran.

Originally from Haggardstown, Darran lives on the Red Barn's Road, Dundalk and started taking photographs five years ago. He has a particular interest in landscape photography and each year produces calendars with a selection of his work.

Darran produces three different calendars - a calendar dedicated to Dundalk, a calendar featuring snaps of the Navvy Bank and a calendar of the churches of Dundalk.

"The hour started off slow but by 8.40pm I got to the number one spot trending in Ireland. I got a lot of good traffic to my website because of it," he said.

Darran's 2018 calendars can be ordered from his website www.darranrafferty.com. They are also available in McEvoy's on Clanbrassil Street, Dundalk; The Home Bakery on Jocelyn Street; Grants on Dublin Street; 23 Seats on Crowe Street; and The Spirit Store on The Quays.
