Principal Sharkey extends invite for Inver open night

Principal Thomas Sharkey of Inver College Carrickmacross is extending a warm invitation to the community to attend the school's open night on the 24th of November.

"We have done a lot of new things in our school since September and have big plans for the future.

“Inver College has established an improved Technical Graphics suite, a brand new Fitness Gym and an outdoor Handball Wall.

“Our school has introduced a new system where parents are notified of their child's absence and asked to confirm the matter with our office.

“These are all in response to suggestions from our students and parents.

"At our open night we will demonstrate to parents and students the new Coding and Enterprise courses that will be introduced as part of the newly reformed Junior Cycle.

“We will outline how our students will become certified as Microsoft Office Specialists and also how parents will be able to access timetables, attendance, behaviour and attainment reports on line.

"On top of all that, we will offer potential students, parents and primary teachers an opportunity to see our school at work.

“We have not been effected by industrial action. Our students are receiving the full school year's tuition.

“We are looking forward to a busy future delivering a modern syllabus for a new era."
