David Jones, Director of Services with Louth County Council said "as a result of that arriving it will result in it having to be closed for a number of weeks at that location".
He also said that councillors would receive an update on the timeline and duration of the closure nearer the time.
Responding to a query from Independent councillor for Dundalk South Maeve Yore, Mr Jones confirmed that the project was progressing, and is still set to be delivered on time and on budget.
Sinn Féin councillor for Dundalk/Carlingford Antóin Watters said "it's good to see everything is progressing well" with the project.
