Louth businesses supported by the Local Enterprise Office created nearly 220 jobs in 2025 according to new figures.

The annual results of the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) for 2025 were announced by Minister of State Alan Dillon. The results show LEO supported companies in Louth created 219 jobs, representing a 61 per cent increase on 2024.

Cllr Seán Kelly, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council said the increase in job creation is hugely positive for Louth.

"Every new job created supports a family, strengthens a community, and contributes to a more vibrant and sustainable local economy," he said.

David Conway, Chief Executive of Louth County Council said creating sustainable jobs is central to making Louth an attractive place to live and work.

"These results demonstrate the impact of long‑term investment in local enterprise, and the strength of the entrepreneurs who are driving growth across our county.

Louth has its own unique opportunities, and that’s why targeted supports from the Local Enterprise Office are vital in helping local businesses to grow and to deliver these results," he said.

Mr Conway encouraged businesses owners in need of help or support to contact their Local Enterprise Office.

Nikki Campbell, Head of Enterprise, Louth LEO said the figures highlight the impact the Local Enterprise Offices and their clients are making.

"The creation of over 219 jobs created is only a small part of the role that Louth LEO play in fostering entrepreneurship and growing enterprise in Louth," she said.

The figures show that 82% of new jobs were created outside Dublin.

Anne Lanigan, Head of Local Enterprise and Regions, Enterprise Ireland,  said the figures show that entrepreneurs can start, grow and scale their businesses from anywhere in Ireland.
