MEP Nina Carberry has called on young people to apply for a free EU travel pass
MEP Nina Carberry has called on young people in Louth and across the Midlands North-West to apply for a free EU travel pass.
The competition, DiscoverEU, which is being run through the Erasmus+ scheme, will allow 40,000 successful ticket holders will have the opportunity to travel for free across Europe for up to 30 days between March 2026 and May 2027, while also receiving discounts for accommodation, food, sports and cultural events across 36 European countries.
DiscoverEU is an action of the Erasmus+ programme that offers young people the opportunity to travel and explore Europe’s diversity, learn about its cultural heritage and history, and connect with people from all over the continent.
Successful entrants will be offered a travel pass to move with the most environment friendly means of transport, like trains. Other transport modes will be permitted in specific cases, for people living on islands or in remote areas.
