Cllr Dolores Minogue and Fergus O’Dowd TD and at Ardee Castle
Ardee Councillor Dolores Minogue, has confirmed that approval has been received from the Department of Rural and Community Development (DRCD) to go to tender for the refurbishment of Ardee Castle.
The project is part funded under the Rural Regeneration Development Fund and will go live on etenders on the week beginning 23 September.
Cllr Minogue told the Dundalk Democrat that, "I am delighted to see that the tendering process for Ardee Castle has finally reached this stage. As a councillor, it is incredibly important to me that we move forward in opening the castle, as the people of Ardee and Mid-Louth have been waiting a long time for this day.
"This milestone is just the beginning, and as your local councillor, I will continue to work closely with the officials of Louth County Council to ensure that the restoration is completed and the doors to this fantastic building are opened soon. This is a key step in preserving our heritage and making it accessible to the community."
