Five new Louth schools to join Arts Council programme

Senator Erin McGreehan welcomed the news

Louth Senator Erin McGreehan has welcomed the inclusion of five new Louth schools in the Arts Council’s Creative Schools programme.

The Creative Schools programme enables schools to discover additional ways of working and uncover the impact of creativity on children and young people’s learning, development and well-being.

Senator McGreehan said that “it is excellent news that Faughart Community National School, Redeemer Girls National School, St. Oliver Plunkett Ns, Scoil Naomh Mhuire, Muchgrange and St. Paul's will join the Arts Council’s Creative Schools programme.

“This will help provide children in the schools with the opportunity to participate fully in a range of art forms within our education system.

“The schools will each receive a €4,000 grant and will work with a professional Creative Associate for two years who will support them to develop and implement their own bespoke Creative School Plan.”

Senator McGreehan, who will be standing in Louth in the next general election added, “Fianna Fáil strongly believes that all children should be helped to fully enjoy their right to arts and culture.”
