On Thursday 27 June, Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail, Emer Higgins, made her first official visit to the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Louth. The visit highlighted the dynamic entrepreneurial spirit and innovation flourishing within the county. 

Upon arrival, Minister Higgins was warmly greeted by Cathaoirleach Kevin Callan and Leas Cathaoirleach John Reilly, along with Acting Director of Services for Strategic Economic Development, Colette Moss, and LEO Business Advisor, Niamh Dennehy. The Minister also met with other council officials, local Chamber representatives and members of the LEO team, who provided insights into the local business landscape.

During the visit, several LEO client companies had the opportunity to showcase their businesses and speak with the Minister about the LEO supports which they had availed of and how these supports had helped their businesses.

Marketing for Me t/a ZOMA and Munchd
ZOMA, a multi-award-winning marketing and creative agency founded by David Kierans and based in Dundalk town centre, specialises in elevating brands through cutting-edge web design, unique content creation, and digital marketing solutions.
The agency, which has expanded to offer 3D and AR services, employs eight full-time staff. Recently, ZOMA launched Munchd, an innovative online food ordering system set to disrupt the hospitality industry.

Ravallon Limited t/a My Forever Tooth Fairy
My Forever Tooth Fairy, founded by Emma Duffy, introduces a unique range of Tooth Fairy toys, books, and memento products aimed at promoting emotional well-being.
The brand’s initial offering includes a female doll accompanied by a book and reusable carry-case packaging, designed for the magical exchange of mail and teeth with the Tooth Fairy. The business has just launched its first product for pre-order online.

Herbel Crest Limited t/a King of Kefir
King of Kefir, a water kefir brewery founded by Gerry Scullion and based in Ardee Business Park, produces natural, full-flavored, non-alcoholic beverages rich in gut-friendly bacteria.
The company, which began production in Dublin before relocating to Ardee to expand production capacity, supplies both canned and bottled products to both SuperValu and Dunnes Stores as well as a number of independent retailers around the country.

Omuu Limited t/a Omuu Pet
Founded by Frank Clarke, Omuu Limited has developed innovative insect-based veterinary dog food and treats designed to address various health issues such as allergies, dental disease, and arthritis.
Committed to environmental sustainability, Omuu Pet uses insect protein, which requires less water and land, and significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The business also utilizes 100% recyclable packaging and donates €1 from each purchase of its products to environmental charities.

At the conclusion of her visit, Minister Higgins praised the LEO's efforts and the entrepreneurial talent in Louth, stating: “The hard work of the LEO office here in Louth is evident in every business I have met today.

“It is fantastic to see that the strategy of my department and the LEO Network has helped create an environment in which these businesses can thrive.”
