Scoil Oilibhéar Naofa in Stonetown celebrated its 100th anniversary last Thursday evening with an open night at the school, attended by past and present pupils and staff. There was a great turnout at the event with those present reminiscing and sharing their memories of their time at the school.
Welcoming all who attended the event, School Principal Aileen McCusker said, “I am delighted that we are here tonight with such a large number of people to celebrate our centenary year in Scoil Oilibhéar Naofa, Stonetown 1924-2024.
“We had so many past pupils and staff in attendance who were very quick to share their fond memories of the school. The night was a great success. Let us remember the teachers, support staff, parents, volunteers, and students who have contributed to the school throughout these one hundred years. This was an opportunity to celebrate the schools’ successes.
“Thank you to all who brought photographs, shared memories, stories, and their memorabilia with us. We are a small but mighty school. I wish all the students, past and present the brightest of futures.”
