Councillors at the March meeting, welcomed the funding allocation. Cllr Antóin Watters pointed out that Louth County Council has initially requested €1,600,000 in Government funding for these particular repairs and asked how the shortfall would be met.
In response Senior Engineer Paddy Connolly said that the initial €1.6 million included works on bridges and culverts and they would make the €1 million cover the costs needed for the 16 roads, with hopefully funding being made available for culverts and bridges later on.
