Maths award for Dundalk Grammar School students

Dundalk Grammar School students have won the north-east regional round of the Junior Problem Solver competition,
They will now go on to compete in the national final later this year.

The Irish Applied Maths Teachers Association hosted the regional round of their Junior Problem Solver Competition on January 18th.

The north-east regional round was hosted in Dundalk Grammar School and saw 20 teams take part from Dundalk Grammar School, Colaiste Rís, Inver College, St. Joseph's in Drogheda and Our Lady's in Drogheda.

With six rounds of four questions each team of 3rd and 4th years battled it out for first place to grab a place in the national final.
Third place went to Our Lady's school in Drogheda, while a Dundalk Grammar School team took second place.

Winning by a substantial margin was a team made up of four Dundalk Grammar School students - Mickey Chung, Nick Kuzmin, Reyna Simpson and Eoin Larkin.

Congratulations to the team and best wishes in the national final later this year, a Dundalk Grammar School spokesperson said.

“All in DGS are extremely proud of the teams achievement.”
