Dundalk IT students raise money for Student Hardship Fund

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT)  final year business students recently ran their annual fundraiser on behalf of the Student Hardship fund.

This event is organised annually as part of their Business Ethics and Corporate Citizenship module.

This year’s fundraiser comprised of three different events, Pop Up Thrift Shops, a Sponsored Walk followed by a Christmas movie.

The students collected second hand items for sale from family and friends and due to the large amount of donations were able to run two busy pop-up shops on campus. The Sponsored Walk to Blackrock followed the Dundalk 10k route. After the walk the students relaxed and watched a fun Christmas movie as a well-deserved treat.

Dr Maeve McArdle, Lecture in DkIT said:

“The students love organising this worthwhile event and I’d like to extend a big thank you to all the students and to everyone who donated, sponsored, or bought items in the shop which supported this important fund”.
