Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) says it is pleased to report that students from its 1st year Event Management course recently hosted a "fabulous fun" charity event and the students are proud to report that they raised approximately €600 for SOSAD.

The charity fundraiser for SOSAD was held in the Hospitality Area on campus and consisted of a coffee morning along with a myriad of other happenings which included raffle prizes, games, photobooth, Nail Art and a comedy show by the "fantastically funny" comedian Black Paddy.

Lorraine Dunne MA (Ed), MBA, Lecturer & Programme Director, BA in Event Management, said: “Both the students and staff love organising charity fundraisers and its absolutely great experience for the Event Management students to see what goes into the planning and delivery of an event like this, but the best part is that all the hard work is so worthwhile when you manage to raise money for such a phenomenal charity like SOSAD, whilst highlighting awareness of mental health issues within our community.”
