Cllr Dolores Minogue has welcomed news that a High Court date has been set, 9 April 2024, for a Judicial Review hearing against An Bord Pleanála (ABP) and the Boards directions to Louth County Council concerning the preparations of an Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and Natura Impact Statement (NIS), for the N52 Ardee Bypass

Cllr Minogue had sought an update on the hearing at the Louth County Council November meeting, with Director of Services, Mr David Jones, providing the update.

Commenting following the meeting, Cllr Minogue told the Dundalk Democrat that “as Cathaoirleach of Ardee mid Louth, I am delighted to hear that a date has been given for hearing, this is a three day event and I hope for a positive result.

“The Ardee Bypass addresses critical traffic congestion issues, alleviating delays and enhancing overall transportation efficiency in the region.

“By diverting through traffic away from the town center, the bypass contributes to improved air quality and reduces noise pollution for residents.

“Enhancing safety, the Ardee Bypass minimizes the risk of accidents by separating local and through traffic, creating a safer environment for both drivers and pedestrians.

“This infrastructure project supports economic development by facilitating smoother movement of goods and people, fostering growth in the local business community.

“Overall, the Ardee Bypass stands as a vital solution to enhance connectivity, safety, and the quality of life for both residents and travelers in the area.”
