The unveiling of The Bruce Boulder in Faughart

The official unveiling of The Bruce Boulder by a direct descendant of King Edward Bruce, was a huge success for Faughart Community Group who said they were delighted to welcome their brethren from up North and across the Irish sea.

This was a significant event in terms of cross community and tourism and it received national coverage with the help of RTE and social media.

It featured on the Six One news on the day of the actual anniversary of the killing of Edward Bruce at the Battle of Faughart 1318.

The Ulster Scots and Lord and Lady received a very warm welcome from all the locals and dignitaries present.

The seniors from Faughart CNS were particularly impressed by the costumed Edward.

The Faughart Community Group would like to thank everyone that attended and they look forward to their next projects; one of which is an animated video accessed through QR codes on the interpretive panels at Faughart Graveyard.

This video will show people the historical site through the ages.
