PSNI make appeal in relation to Crossmaglen shooting incident

An Garda Síochána issues appeal on behalf of PSNI

PSNI officers investigating an attempted murder in Crossmaglen on Monday 4 September 2023 have issued an appeal for information.

Five arrests have been made to date, with all arrested persons bailed to allow for further enquiries.

The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was shot just after 6.10am as he sat inside his car, a silver coloured Volkswagen Passat, in the Ballsmill Road area.

The attack took place early on a Monday morning, 4th September, just after 6.10am. Although this is a rural area, it’s also a road well used by motorists for their morning journey to work, linking with onward routes to both Dublin and Belfast.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who noticed a dark coloured Hyundai Tuscan believed to have been in the vicinity of the Ballsmill Road area.

Anyone who can help to identify this vehicle, has information regarding it’s movements on the day of the incident or has dash-cam footage is asked to contact detectives on 0044 289065 0222 quoting reference number 253 of 04/09/23.

Alternatively, information can be provided online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
