Cllr Reilly pushes for bus stop near Lis na Dara in Dundalk

Cllr John Reilly

Dundalk-Carlingford's Cllr John Reilly, has called on Louth County Council to write to Bus Éireann to consider providing a bus stop close to the entrance to the Lis Na Dara estate on the Carrickmacross Road.

Cllr Reilly raised the matter at the Dundalk Municipal District October meeting, and says that the area is on the main 170 bus route to Cavan, and that the population in the area has greatly increased in the last number of years.

The Fine Gael councillor says that, "the only bus stop nearby is at Dundalk Railway Station which is a good walk down the road", adding that elderly residents in that area have indicated to him how beneficial another bus stop would be.

"Hopefully, Bus Éireann will give this proposal serious consideration", Cllr Reilly added.
