A new local chapter of remote working group "Grow Remote" has been launched in Mid-Louth. Grow Remote is a social and networking organisation for remote and hybrid workers.

Local Councillor John Sheridan organised the launch and commented afterwards: “I thank all those who attended on the day.
“We had a mixture of remote workers, people interested in moving to remote work as well as interested well-wishers!

“Following on from the success of the launch we will have a social night "after work social" on Thursday September 28 from 6.30pm in Shearmans Dunleer.”

Cllr Sheridan continued, “I thank Peter McGrane of Louth Local Entreprise for his support for the event and on the day as well as Senator Erin McGreehan for attending.

“I also thank Ardee Business Park and Market House Dunleer for their support in the launch, there are remote desks available in both locations for daily or weekly hire.”

Cllr Sheridan explained, “we know from new census figures this week that 26% of workers in Mid-Louth census are working from home at least one day per week. Grow Remote is about providing a personal network for remote and hybrid workers in the area.

“While remote working has changed areas like Mid-Louth so much, there can be a slight element of loneliness to it, so this group is about providing social and networking opportunities to remote workers.

“The organisation primarily tries to allow networking of remote and hybrid workers, but also provides avenues to training and also seeks to provide recruitment opportunities for those looking to work remotely in an area. "

The Fianna Fáil councillor added, “there is already a chapter in Dundalk and I met them as part of the run up to this launch. All are welcome to Thursday's event. We just ask that they register in advance on www.growremote.ie”
