There was much delight in St. Mary’s College last Friday morning with the release of the Leaving Certificate results for this year’s group of students.
While the state exams commission now publish results online, many students still elected to call to the College and engage in congratulatory chats with teachers, and also to seek the advice of Guidance counsellors, over tea and refreshments.
Principal, Alan Craven expressed great satisfaction with the results. "We are delighted with the achievement of the Class of 2023.
"Covid interruptions at Junior Cycle tested the resilience of these students and we are thrilled that these results reflect their committed effort and continue the trend of school improvement over the last number of years."

Mr Craven anticipated that the majority of these students will have their expectations met with the first round of CAO next week.
Mr Craven was speaking with a couple of the first students to arrive at the College, Grainne Conlon and Student of the Year, Callum Clarke.
Both achieved just shy of 600 points and hope to continue their studies at Trinity. Also present was Eddie Finnegan and he was in celebratory mood having achieved the 500 points he required to study Music in TUD.
Kate McArdle was another student present to have surpassed 550 points and she was looking forward to Art college next year. Katleynn King was another very satisfied student who stated she was also taking the Art route next year.
Cormac Connolly was delighted with achieving over 450 points, which will give him the opportunity to study History and Politics at DCU next year.

Mr. Craven congratulated all students on their excellent results and wished them well in their chosen path next year.
