MATTOCK RANGERS 1-8
St Mochtas consolidated their second place in the table when they defeated Mattock Rangers in Louth Village on a 3-9 to 1-8 scoreline.
Points were hard to come by in the opening half, but the Mochtas weren’t found wanting when it came to taking goal chances as Craig Lennon grabbed a brace to send his team in with a 2-3 to 0-4 advantage at the interval.
The hosts were always in control of the game in the second half of an encounter that saw Jamie Farrell, Oisin Callan and Declan Byrne on target, but it was a goal from Cormac Smyth that sealed the game.
Mattock battled throughout and had a goal from Ronan Kilbane and points from Liam Flynn, Aaron O’Brien and Cathal Fleming.

In an entertaining encounter, the teams showed great attacking intent throughout, and at the break it was St Pats who had a 2-5 to 1-4 advantage.
Goals from Aidan McCann and Jason Woods inside the first quarter had the hosts in charge but the Gers gave themselves hope with a goal from a Shaun Callan penalty.
The goals dried up in the second half but the Gers battled on to stay in the game as Michael Rogers took his tally to seven points.
However, the Pats held on with the help of points from Eoin O’Connor, Cathal Grogan and Joseph Connor.
