Adrian Kenny won the Singles Stableford competition held over the weekend of July 8 and 9.

Playing off 20, he shot an excellent score of 42pts to take the overall victory by one point from Niall McCaul (9).

Kenny got off to a solid start, scoring 12pts over the first five holes, including three points for a par at the first and three points for a bogey at the index one fourth.

An eight at the par five sixth had the potential to severely disrupt his momentum, but Kenny regrouped and after picking up two points at the index three seventh, he had five successive pars around the turn from the eighth to the 12th which yielded 16pts.

Another three-point par came at the 17th as he came home in 22pts having gone out in 20pts. He did just enough to hold off the fast-finishing McCaul.

Having gone out in 18pts, McCaul charged down the back nine, covering it in 23pts thanks to three birdies which yielded 10pts. However, he came up short and had to settle for second place.

Matthew McCaughey (12), John Laverty (18) and Derek Maguire (20) took the divisional prizes while Shane Hession shot 36pts to record the best gross score.  Pat McEntegart had a Hole-in-One on the 17th.

The weekly Wednesday Open Singles Stableford was won by Adam Brady (22) who edged out Ross Quigley (9) on countback after both had finished on 43pts.

Ciaran Traynor (7), Stephen Lennon (17) and John McEneaney (24) won the divisional prizes while Colin Roche shot 38pts for the best gross score.
