There were big wins for St Dominic's and Muirhevnamor in the league this week
Dundalk and District League
St Dominic's 2-1 Quay Celtic
In a tensely fought contest in the Friary Field between St Dominic's and Quay Celtic, it was the league's leading goalscorer Greg Shannon who took centre stage.
Minutes before the break he struck in a goalmouth scrambled to send the Saints 1-0 up on 41 minutes. On 58 minutes he out-ran the visitors defence to shoot home past Padraig McConville for his 16th strike this term to make it 2-0.
Undaunted Quay hit back. Despite losing Johnny Winters through injury, Conal Brady headed past Dane Harrison from a corner kick on 62 minutes.
Near the end of the match, the home side hit the crossbar, just before Greg Shannon was sent off after receiving a second yellow card but it didn't effect the final result.
This win left St Dominic's joint leaders alongside Rampart Celtic on 18 points.
Shamrocks 0 Muirhevnamor 4
The Fatima side loss of form continued with this 4-0 defeat to an impressive Muirhevnamor on Shamrock's own turf.
Michael Stokes had the Blues ahead after three minutes, scoring from close range. Within minutes of the restart, Micky O'Kane doubled the visitors advantage.
A powerful shot from Alex Periera in the 73rd minute gave Smith, the Hoops keeper, no chance as he made it 3-0. Five minutes from time Toheeb Agunbian completed the rout of last season's treble winners.
