Communities integration funding announced for five Louth organisations
Local Fine Gael TD, Fergus O’Dowd, has welcomed news that €25k has been secured for five local projects under the Communities Integration Fund 2023.
The Communities Integration Fund has been in place since 2017 and arises from Action 51 of the Migrant Integration Strategy, which calls for funding to be made available to local communities throughout Ireland to promote the integration of migrants and refugees. Since its inception, the Communities Integration Fund has supported over 820 projects, with grant funding totalling €3.82 million.
Deputy O’Dowd said:
“This welcome funding has been made available to support organisations who help welcome and integrate migrants and refugees within our local communities.
“The Local projects which will benefit from today’s announcement by the Minister of State for Community Development, Integration and Charities, Joe O’Brien are as follows:
l Louth Culture Celebrating Diversity Louth in Motion. LIM €5,000
l Louth Culture Connect CLG Space for All Nations (Drogheda) €5,000
l Louth Culture Connect CLG Space for All Nations (Dundalk) €5,000
l Louth Hands 4 Unity CLG Taste of All Nations €5,000
l Louth Lifestyle Development Group CLG The Festival of International Food €5,000
He added:
“The Communities Integration Fund 2023 open call for proposals ran from 15th February - 15th March 2023 and just over €500k has been made available in 2023 to support local projects through grant funding of up to €5,000 per successful project.”
