Dundalk has seen a monthly fall in the number of people signing on the Live Register, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
3,455 people signed on the Live Register in Dundalk in March. This is down 147 on February and represents a decrease of 4.1%. On an annual basis however, the town has seen a slight increase, with 77 more people signing on in March 2023 than March 2022.
Ardee has also seen a slight monthly decrease in the number of people signing on the Live Register. 764 people signed on in Ardee in March 2023, down eight from February. The mid Louth town has also seen an annual fall in the number of people signing on, down 13 on March 2022.
In Drogheda, 54 fewer people signed on in March than in February, similar to Dundalk however, it has also seen a slight annual rise, with 49 more people signing on in March 2023 than March 2022.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted Live Register total for March 2023 was 180,500 persons, down by 1,600 or 0.9% from February 2023. The unadjusted Live Register total stood at 179,777 persons for March 2023. Of the 179,777 persons on the unadjusted Live Register in March 2023, 53.8% were male and 69.2% were Irish.
