With the wedding season about to get into full swing a charity shop in Dundalk is bracing itself for an influx of customers from all over the country.
Vincent’s, Jocelyn Street, Dundalk has been attracting brides from as far away as Cork and Mayo since it set up a boutique wedding area in the shop in 2019.
Since then it has amassed a national reputation for having super nearly new wedding dresses for prices up to €300.
The shop will be holding a special open evening on 20th April and shop manager, Ashling Mathews says that an impressive range of wedding dresses will be on display.
At any one time the bridal boutique has nearly 250 wedding dresses available in a wide range of styles with some brand new and preloved.
It operates on an appointment only basis so as to give the bride and her family and friends the time and space in private to look through all the dresses and share a unique experience at the start of their bridal journey.
There are many different shades, shapes and designs of dresses available with a variety of sizes. There may also be an opportunity to find a designer label or particular dream dress at a fraction of the cost.
Along with bridal gowns, the boutique also stocks a range of Mother of the Bride outfits, bridesmaids, flower girls along with debs gowns and Holy Communion dresses. With bridal accessories, hats, shoes and fascinators also available.
The shop welcomes donations of new, nearly new and pre-loved bridal wear, along with bridal shoes, veils, hats and fascinators.
There is the added benefit in that as Vincent’s shops are part of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVP) any surplus from their trading help out people in need in their local communities.
