Louth County Council hiring a Staff Wellbeing Officer

Louth County Council has announced that it is expanding its staff wellbeing initiatives with the recruitment of a dedicated Staff Wellbeing Officer for the first time. 

As one of the first local authorities in the country to put in place a full time Staff Wellbeing Officer, Louth County Council are now inviting applications for the role.

In May 2022, the Council launched a new Strategic Workforce Plan which set out a range of actions the organisation was going to take to ensure that it is best placed to meet the evolving role and challenges facing the local authority.

The Council say that protecting, and enhancing, the holistic wellbeing of staff is a key pillar of this work and it intended that the successful appointee will develop this new role over the next three years.

A spokesperson said:

"The way in which organisations work is evolving, and similarly, the Council realises that the ways in which an employer supports their employees is evolving also.

"It is envisaged by the Council that the successful candidate will work with both internal and external stakeholders in developing an overall Wellbeing Strategy for Louth County Council, in addition to annual programmes of initiatives and events."
