Cllr Maria Doyle sought an update at the Louth County Council February meeting
A National Transport Authority (NTA) bus shelter that was intalled on Seafield Road in Blackrock, on the side of the road that is not being serviced by any buses, will not be moved to the opposite side, councillors heard at the Louth County Council February meeting.
Cllr Maria Doyle had sought an update on the shelter, having raised the matter at a previous municipal district meeting.
Cllr Doyle told the county meeting that it was her understanding that it was put there in error.
In response, Senior Engineer with Louth County Council, John O'Hagan said that there was no room to put a bus shelter on the opposite side of the road, with more room on the side of the road where it was installed.
Mr O'Hagan suggested that people could wait in the shelter until the bus arrives and then cross the road to get on it.
