Some of the dumping just off the Racecourse Road
Last week the Dundalk Democrat was contacted by a concerned resident regarding persistent and continuous littering on a laneway just past the Ath Lethan Estate on the Racecourse Road.
What appears to be large amounts of domestic rubbish including nappies, bin bags and an old suite of furniture have been dumped over a period of time.
The resident said that the spot has “become notorious for tipping” in recent times and says they have contacted Louth County Council on more than one occasion to report the rubbish and see about getting cameras installed.
The Dundalk Democrat contacted Louth County Council to ask if it planned on taking any action regarding the areas in question but did not receive a reply at the time of going to print.
