Planning refused for eight houses in north Louth
Louth County Council has refused planning permission for the construction of eight detached houses, all of which were partially constructed, at Rampark in Jenkinstown, Dundalk.
Beacon Parks Developments Ltd had applied for planning permission in November 2022 for the development, which had been partially completed as part of a previous planning permission, granted in 2006 to Stephen O'Connor.
In its decision to refuse planning permission, the local authority said that the site is located within a Level 5 Settlement as designated under the Louth County Development Plan 2021-2027, as varied, where multi-unit developments are not considered appropriate.
Louth County Council also said that having regard to the location and to the proposal for the houses to be served by individual waster water treatment systems, the Planning Authority was not satisfied that “given the proliferation of existing waste water treatments systems in the area and those proposed, that the development would not pose an unacceptable risk of environmental pollution, and would be contrary to the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.”
