Count Centre in Cólaiste Chú Chulainn in Dundalk
The first count in Louth was announced just after 7.30pm this evening in Cólaiste Chú Chulainn with Sinn Fein's Ruairí Ó Murchú getting the most first prefence votes with 8,728, followed closely by Joanna Byrne with 8,169 votes and Labour's Ged Nash coming third after the first count with 7,594.
Fianna Fail's Erin McGreehan got 5,772 first preference votes and Fine Gael's Paula Butterly got 5,646.
There was one candidate eliminated who was Independent David Carroll who only received 40 votes.
The quota to be elected to one of the five seats in Louth is 10, 623.
