Erin McGreehan is from the Cooley Peninsula, Co. Louth.

She was elected to Louth County Council in May of 2019 on her first Election Campaign.

In June 2020, she was nominated to the 26th Seanad by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin.

She most recently served as Fianna Fáil’s Seanad Spokesperson on Children, Disability, Equality and Integration.

After that, she completed a Masters in European Economics and Public Affairs in University College Dublin.

Erin and her partner Donal have four young boys. They are very active in sports and their community, being active members of Cooley Kickhams G.F.C. and Glenmore A.C.

Erin grew up in a small farm. Her father Gerry is a farmer and a plumber.

Erin has advocated for the local farming community, particularly in the wake of the devastating floods which affected many in north Louth.

She has been keen to represent the Agri -sector in Louth and protect farming families.

She places a strong interest in disability rights and trying to further access therapies and treatments for people with disabilities, as well as their access to healthcare, education, employment and housing.

Erin strongly believes in equal access to healthcare.

She has been extremely active on women’s healthcare in the Seanad, and on the right to be forgotten for cancer patients, ensuring that they have equal access to financial products.

If elected, a priority of Erin’s is to ensure that A&E services in Drogheda are expanded with additional resources and more beds.

Also, she wants to ensure an expansion of the Minor Injuries Unit in the Louth County Hospital.

Erin is dedicated to enhancing safety in our communities by increasing the presence of Guards on our streets.

Both urban and rural areas across the county deserve to feel secure. Erin, along with the Fianna Fáil party, is committed to boosting Garda numbers to help reduce anti-social behaviour.

Strengthening businesses in our towns and villages to make them more attractive and sustainable is also a key priority for Erin.

Additionally, Erin is focused on delivering a new GAA stadium for Louth and a new athletics track in Dundalk.
