St Brides Mothers & Others GAA football team have been selected to represent Louth at the New York Blitz which take place in October.
The proud GAA team, based in Knockbridge, said it is a dream come true to be representing their club and county at the GAA Blitz in America.
St Brides Francis Smyth said: “This is an incredible honour for our club, parish and for all the women who have dedicated themselves to Gaelic games over the years.
“The Mothers & Other initiative has brought together women of all ages and abilities, fostering not only fitness and fun, but also friendship and community spirit.
“To have the opportunity to wear the Louth & St Brides colours on an international stage in New York is a dream come true and a testament of everyone involved in our team.”

St Brides Mothers & Others said they would like to thank the Louth LGFA, their coaches and the GAA for making opportunities like this possible.
“We are deeply grateful for the support we've already received from our local community”, Francis continued.
Over the coming months they will be hosting various fundraising events to help make this trip possible, and said they “hope that the people of Louth will continue to get behind the as they prepare to represent them with pride”.
There will be a fundraising quiz night in Mo Chara, Dundalk on Thursday July 24th at 7.30pm. Tickets €10 per person.
